Lionel Messi wins Ballon d’Or for the seventh time
Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain has won the Ballon d’Or for the seventh time in a row. The star went on to raise Dior’s tally to seven, making him the highest-grossing boy in history. Messi, Barcelona’s midfielder this season, has won the Copa del Rey. Messi also led Argentina to the Copa Amrica victory, ending decades of waiting. Messi has scored the most goals in Copa America, the all-time leading scorer. Messi also surpassed Pele in scoring goals for the country this season.
Messi, who arrived at PSG from Barcelona this season, is looking to continue his prowess there as well. Messi previously won the Ballon d’Or in 2009,2010,2011,2012,2015,2019. When Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski finished second in the award, Chelsea’s Italian Jorge Gino came in third. Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema finished fourth while Conte finished fifth. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was sixth and Mohamed Salah seventh.
Messi has played just 11 games for PSG so far, scoring four goals, but he was rewarded as much as anything for his continued brilliance down the years.
He has now won the Ballon d’Or twice more than his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo — between them they have won 12 of the last 13 editions with the exception coming in 2018 when Luka Modric claimed the prize.
Prolific Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski finished second and Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho was third in the voting by a jury of journalists from around the world.
Chelsea named the best team of the season

English club Chelsea named the best team of the season at Ballon d’Or. Chelsea, who have won the Champions League this season, were to be selected as the best team in French football.
Chelsea’s legend Frank Lampard has been replaced by German coach Thomas Tuhl at the start of the season. They are currently top of the Premier League.
Donaruma is the best goalkeeper
The Yachin Trophy for the best goalkeeper of the season at the Ballon d’Or goes to Italy’s Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Jialuigi Donaruma. The former Milan goalkeeper has been instrumental in helping Italy win the Euro Cup this season.

Italy’s victory over England in a penalty shootout in the Euro Cup final also earned him the title of Goalkeeper of the Tournament. The Italian is also playing well for PSG this season.
Alexia is the best female player in Barcelona
Barcelona captain Alexia Puttalas has been named the best female footballer of the season. The Spaniard has been instrumental in helping Barcelona win the Champions League, the Champions League and the Cup this season.

The 27-year-old has scored 39 goals in 57 games this season. Alexia has surpassed her teammates Barcelona, Arsenal’s Miedoma and Chelsea’s Sam Kerr. This is the third player to win the Balan Dior Award for Women
Robert Lewandowski as the best forward
Bayern’s Polish star Robert Lewandowski has been named Ballon d’Or’s best striker of the season. This is the first time French football has been given this award. Lewandowski, who has been in great form this season, has been scoring goals for both the club and the country.

In 2021, Lewandowski scored 64 goals in 54 games. The player who won the Bundesliga was the biggest goal scorer and the best player in the Bundesliga. The Polish athlete also won the European gold boot. Lewandowski is also a potential player for Balan Dior.
Barcelona’s Pedri as the best young player
Barcelona’s Pedri wins Copa trophy for best Under-21 player at this season’s Ballon d’Or. The 19 – year – old won the award, beating Dortmund’s Jude Bellingdon and Bayern’s Jamal Musiala.

Pedri, who played 73 games this season, led the Spanish team to the Olympic final. Pedri thanked Barcelona for all their help. The player also thanked former Barcelona star Lionel Messi for helping him in his career.
