IPL 2021: RCB defeats Rajasthan; RCB won with 17 balls to spare.

Dubai: The Rajasthan Royals did not live up to expectations in the second quarter of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League. In the last match, Rajasthan lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets. Batting first, Rajasthan scored 149 for nine while RCB overtook the target by three wickets. RCB won with 17 balls to spare. RCB beat Rajasthan by 100 runs for the loss of two wickets in 11.1 overs.
RCB’s Herschelle Patel is one of the wicket-takers this season. He has already taken 26 wickets. This is the best bowling performance in the IPL by a player who has not made his debut for the national team. In 2013, Yusvendra Chahal took 23 wickets for RCB. He did not play for India then. Herschel also holds the record for the second best bowling performance of an Indian bowler this season with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Jaspreet Bumra, who took 27 wickets in the 2020 season, holds the record. He is likely to break this record in the next match.

Rajasthan Royals ended their innings at 149/9 after 20 overs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their IPL encounter on Wednesday. Rajasthan were cruising at 100/1 after 11 overs but lost their way completely after Evin Lewis’ dismissal, losing 8 for 49 in the last nine overs. Batter after batter came in, tried to swing their way to some runs, and perished. Shahbaz Ahmed and Harshal Patel had a wonderful evening, but let’s also not forget Yuzvendra Chahal’s spell for a second game running.

Glenn Maxwell shone with his second consecutive half-century. He also became the fifth Australian to score 7000 runs in T20I. David Warner, Aaron Finch, Brad Hogg and Shane Watson have all previously achieved this feat. Evin Lewis and Yashwasi Jaiswal have achieved the highest post-2019 partnership for Rajasthan. They added 77 runs to the scoreboard.
Herschelle Patel became the second player to complete 10 wickets in the 20th over of an IPL season. Dwayne Bravo has taken 12 wickets in 2015. Herschel’s striker average is 9.31. Herschel is one of the best stout strikers in the IPL to take more than 10 wickets in a season.
Sanju Samson completed 450 runs in the season. He currently has 452 runs to his name. Shikhar Dhawan is ahead of Sanju in the run chase. RCB captain Virat Kohli scored 25 off 20 balls. He was running out in the match. This is the first time since 2015 that Kohli has been ruled out. Collie was run out by Ryan Parag. Kohli, who has done well in the last two matches, got off to a good start against the Rajasthan Royals but could not capitalize. With the win, RCB activated their play-off hopes. RCB are third with 14 points from 11 matches. Rajasthan are seventh with eight points from 11 matches.

    Brief scores:

Rajasthan Royals: Evin Lewis (58), Yashasvi Jaiswal (31); Harshal Patel 3/34, Shahbaz Ahmed 2/10, Yuzvendra Chahal 2/18

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Srikar Bharat (45), Glenn Maxwell (50); Mustafizur Rahman 2/20
