Crushed Manchester City; Messi’s first goal in a PSG jersey

Paris: Lionel Messi’s goal in the UEFA Champions League. PSG beat Manchester City by two goals to nothing. Another goal for PSG was scored by Indris Guye. This is Messi’s first goal in a PSG shirt. With the win, PSG topped Group A with four points from two matches. Messi scored his first goal for PSG in the 74th minute after missing the last two matches due to injury. The fans were in for a big disappointment, including the chances of knocking back the post in previous matches. The superstar scored a brilliant goal that made it all legendary. The goal was a breakthrough with Mbabane. With Neymar and Mbabane after the match.

Lionel Messi showed why Paris Saint-Germain went all-out to sign him earlier this season. In the the 73rd minute of Tuesday’s Champions League match against Manchester City, Messi executed a picture perfect one-two with Kylian Mbappe and then finished his first goal as a member of PSG.

As City pushed for an equalizer, Messi found himself with a great deal of open space and aggressively dribbled towards the box. He used Mbappe at the edge of the box for the kind of tricky little wall pass that we’ve all seen him do a million times at Barcelona and Mbappe tapped it right back to Messi for the sensational goal.

This marked the fourth match that superstar has appeared in as a member of PSG. After his astonishing summer move from Barca, Messi made his PSG debut against Reims on Aug. 29 when he came off the bench.  However, since then he’s been dealing with a knee injury that caused the six-time Ballon d’Or winner to miss PSG’s last two Ligue 1 matches. However, the Argentine star managed to get fit in time to make the start in Tuesday’s match and made quite an impact.

Tuesday’s victory was a monumental one after PSG didn’t exactly have the start to the Champions League season that they expected. PSG played to a 1-1 draw in its opening Champions League match against Club Brugge earlier this month. The win puts them in phenomenal shape to advance from Group A, though it’s still early with only two matches played and four to go.

Messi also shared the celebration on social media in the dressing room.
Strong Liverpool Portuguese club Porto celebrated their second victory in the group by drowning in a goalless draw. Anfield won by five goals to one. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored twice, while Sadio Mane scored once. Mehdi Taremi found Porto’s consolation goal. They beat Milan 3-1. In another match, Atletico Madrid defeated AC Milan by two goals to one. Milan’s defeat came after a goalless draw. Antoine Griezmann scored in the 84th minute and Luis Suarez in injury time for Atletico Madrid.
