The start of the fifth round of fights in the English Premier League. Newcastle United and Leeds United were held to a draw by Newcastle, aiming for their first win of the season.
Leeds are currently 16th in the points table with three draws and two defeats, and Newcastle are 18th with two draws and three defeats.
Newcastle United and Leeds United fought out a 1-1 draw in an entertaining Premier League clash at St James’ Park on Friday and the result did neither side any favours as it stretched their winless starts to five games.
The result left Newcastle 18th on two points and piled more pressure on manager Steve Bruce while Leeds are 16th on three points after they missed a string of chances in an action-packed first half.
Leeds dominated possession and missed a string of chances after Raphinha fired them ahead in the 13th minute before Allan Saint-Maximin levelled with a fine individual effort on the stroke of halftime.
Both teams scored one goal each and drew. Leeds United took the lead in the 13th minute in front of more than 50,000 spectators at Newcastle ‘s home ground. Brazilian midfielder Rafinha scores for the team.
But just before the end of the first half, superstar Alan St. Maximin scored the equalizer for Newcastle. Newcastle and Leeds have played five games in the Premier League so far. But so far the teams have not been able to achieve a single win this season.
Today, defending champions Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Everton are all competing. Currently Manchester United are top of the points table. Chelsea are second and Liverpool are third.
